▌ Installation Guide
  1. Format a USB drive as FAT32 or exFAT.
  2. On the drive, create a folder named PS4, and inside it a folder named UPDATE (all caps).
  3. Download the firmware you need and rename the file to exactly PS4UPDATE.PUP.
  4. Final path should be: USB:\PS4\UPDATE\PS4UPDATE.PUP
  5. Plug the USB into the PS4, then go to Settings → System Software Update, or boot into Safe Mode (hold Power until the second beep) and choose Option 3: Update System Software.
Quote:⚠ Important Notes
  • Firmware cannot be downgraded. You can only install a version equal to or higher than what is currently on your console.
  • Jailbreak / homebrew users: do NOT update past the firmware your exploit supports. Once you go up, there is no going back.
  • Always verify the MD5 hash after downloading to make sure the file is complete and unmodified.
  • These are web update PUPs. For a full system reinstall (Safe Mode Option 7 / new HDD), use the full reinstallation file instead.
